Armour tuition
4 sessions of Armouring Tuition on a Friday. Each session is from 8am until 5pm with an hour for lunch.
The aim is to teach the student medieval armouring and blacksmithing techniques with modern and traditional equipment to a high standard in line with the skill of the student. With support towards design and research as well as physical manufacture.
If you cannot make it to a session please give at least 48 hours notice before the session and with understanding that rebooking a new replacement session for a later date could cost more. This tuition is refundable up-to 14 days before the date of the first session minus a 20% admin fee. Cancelling after the first or subsequent sessions does not refund the previous used sessions.
Rules & Safety Guidelines for Armour and Blacksmith Training
1. Acknowledgment of Risk
By booking and attending training sessions, participants acknowledge that blacksmithing and armour crafting involve inherent risks, including but not limited to heat exposure, sharp tools, heavy materials, and potential injury. While every precaution is taken to ensure safety, participants accept full responsibility for their own well-being.
2. Mandatory Safety Gear
Participants must wear the following at all times during training:
Leather work gloves
Protective eyewear
Long-sleeved clothing made of natural fibres (no synthetic materials)
Closed-toe, steel-capped boots
Failure to wear proper protective gear may result in dismissal from the training session without refund.
3. Supervision and Compliance
All activities must be performed under the supervision of the instructor.
Participants must follow all instructions immediately and without argument.
Reckless or unsafe behaviour will lead to immediate removal from the session.
4. Liability Waiver
By booking a session, participants agree that the instructor and training facility are not responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur. Participants waive all legal claims related to personal injury, loss, or damage incurred during training.
5. First Aid and Emergency Procedures
A first aid kit will be available on-site.
In the event of an injury, participants must report it immediately.
Emergency services will be contacted if necessary.
6. Booking and Cancellation Policy
Participants must be 18 years or older (or accompanied by a guardian with signed consent).
Late arrivals may not be accommodated.
No refunds for participants removed due to safety violations.
7. Respect for Equipment and Workspace
Tools and machinery must be handled with care and returned after use.
Workspaces must be kept clean to avoid hazards. Assume all metal is hot at all times before touching.
Any damage to equipment due to negligence must be compensated by the participant.
